COURSE SYLLABUS

  • Lesson 1. Hypnosis: Hypnotisability, Susceptibility Tests and Induction Techniques     An introduction to the use and practice of hypnosis as a treatment for psychological problems and how to test a client for hypnotisability and susceptibility to suggestion.    Also an Induction Technique that is safe to use as an introduction to the relief of tension and a Relaxation Technique.

  • Lesson 2. Hypnosis: Deepening Techniques   Taking the Induction Technique in Lesson One a step further by showing how to deepen the trance state.

  • Lesson 3. Hypnosis: Termination of Hypnosis    Although the initial Induction script has a termination technique, there are many others that can be used.    This lesson discusses and teaches how to terminate hypnosis safely leaving no 'side effects' or residual negative feelings.

  • Lesson 4. Hypnosis: Principles of Suggestion/Post Hypnotic Suggestions    Now you can take a client into hypnosis, deepen the trance state and then terminate safely, it is time to learn how to give the client suggestions that will relieve the problem being treated.    These must be done correctly and ethically and included in this lesson are suggestions that can be acted upon after termination of hypnosis.

  • Lesson 5. Hypnosis: Practical - Basic Hypnosis (Progressive Relaxation)    Another technique that incorporates 'Progressive Relaxation'.     This script is very effective in taking a client into hypnosis when resistance is present.

  • Lesson 6. Psychology: Freud (Infantile Development and Defense Mechanisms)   Every Hypnotherapist must know something of the psychology behind illnesses.   Otherwise, how can he treat a client?    Symptom removal is not the whole of this course and finding the root cause of an illness is paramount in the treatment offered.    Although Freud is not everyone's 'cup of tea', he contributed some very useful knowledge to the psychology of disease.    This lesson discusses Freud's contribution.

  • Lesson 7. Psychology: The Seven Keys to Psychosomatic Illnesses   This is the author's brain child.   Almost every psychological illness can be traced back to one of the Seven Keys revealed and discussed in this lesson.   This lesson is dynamite and must be studied and practiced by any conscientious Hypnotherapist.

  • Lesson 8. Hypnosis: Practical - Induction, Deepening and Ideo-motor Response    This practical session is to give you experience in using an hypnotic script that will deepen the trance state and teaches a simple technique that allows you to contact the client's Unconscious mind to obtain information about his or her problems.

  • Lesson 9. Psychology: Anxiety and Stress   The most common of ailments and the easiest to deal with through hypnotherapy.   this lesson is to be studied thoroughly to get the best from it and consists of the pathology of anxiety and stress and means of dealing with the symptoms.

  • Lesson 10. Hypnosis: Practical - Ego-strengthening Technique    This is an easy technique for building a client's confidence and self esteem.    You can use it on yourself when you have learned self-hypnosis (see Lesson 24)

  • Lesson 11. Hypnosis: Practical - Smoker’s Therapy   This lesson includes the pathology behind the smoking habit and a script that takes the client through three sessions and guarantees he or she stops smoking, providing there is a genuine desire to do so.

  • Lesson 12. Psychology: The Psychology of Overweight     Losing weight is the most difficult of all the therapies for a Hypnotherapist as the client normally has many reasons for not wanting to lose weight.   This lesson covers the majority of those reasons.

  • Lesson 13. Hypnosis: Practical - Slimmer’s Therapy    This is the most effective script known to lose weight and takes the client over three separate sessions

  • Lesson 14. Psychology: Carl Gustav Jung - Analytical Psychology    An introduction to Jungian Psychology - best suited for those therapists who believe we are all both physical and spiritual beings.

  • Lesson 15. Psychology: Behaviourism    This is an introduction to the treatment of behavior patterns with behaviorist techniques.

  • Lesson 16. Psychology: Phobias - Theory only   This lesson covers the theories behind phobias.   There is no practical therapy involved in this lesson as other scripts can be adapted to suit the phobia being treated.

  • Lesson 17. Imagery: Practical - Guided Imagery     This is an alternative technique to the use of hypnosis and uses the power of the client's imagination to relieve problems.

  • Lesson 18. Hypnosis: Uncovering Technique: Diagnostic Scanning    Before starting a course of therapy, the hypnotherapist sometimes needs to be aware of the times in a client's life when the problem being treated affected him or her.   Diagnostic scanning pin-points the time(s) in a clients life which should be investigated

  • Lesson 19. Hypnosis: Regression Technique - Free-floating Regression    A practical technique that allows the client to -free-float- back in time to the origin of the problem being treated.

  • Lesson 20. N.L.P. Neuro-linguistic Programming - Anchoring    An NLP technique to change the negative feelings associated with an event in the client's life

  • Lesson 21. Hypnosis: Uncovering Technique: Practical - Dream Analysis   Dreams may hold the key to many of our present day problems (in support of Jung's theories) and this technique uncovers the hidden meaning behind significant dreams

  • Lesson 22. Psychology: Recognition of Resistances (FAQ referring to resistance and other general questions asked by past students)

  • Lesson 23. Psychology: Psychological Questionnaires (Isolating Conflict Areas)  The use of questionnaires to isolate a client's conflict areas.   These questionnaires are intended to be completed in private and then used during sessions to analyse and highlight subconscious conflicts

  • Lesson 24. Psychology. Body Language  A client's words can be 'an honest lie'.   Body language always speaks the truth

  • Lesson 25. Hypnosis. Self-Hypnosis for Course Members and Clients  Self-hypnosis can not only help the therapist to  become a better therapist but also clients to resolve inner turmoil.  It also helps to reduce the number of sessions required by the client, thereby saving time and money.

  • Lesson 26. Psychology. Client Centered Therapy - Carl Rogers   Client Centered Therapy - a gentle therapy that requires unconditional acceptance of a client by the therapist

  • Lesson 27. Hypnosis. Uncovering Technique - Psycho-Imagination Therapy   This is probably the most powerful guided imagery technique available to a therapist.

  • Lesson 28. Psychology. Intimate Relationship Dysfunctioning    This lesson is mainly directed at clients who have specific problems of an intimate nature.

  • Lesson 29. Psychology. Gestalt Therapy - Fritz Perls   This therapy is for those therapists who can be a little 'hard' on the client.   Why?  Because the client releases inner turmoil in, sometimes, a physical way that can appear to be damaging to the client.

  • Lesson 30. Hypnosis. Past Life Regression for Course Members and Clients    If the client believes in reincarnation, then it follows that he or she will believe in past lives.    Present day problems can have their roots in a traumatic experience in a past life.    The reliving of that experience under hypnosis can often resolve a life time problem.   This therapy can also be used as a cosmetic therapy for those who simply wish to know their past lives.

  • Lesson 31. Setting up a practice - (Advice and tips )    This lesson is mainly directed at UK students, but with help from overseas students, it will hopefully include the best way of setting up a practice in the USA and other countries.  Includes answers to some of your questions.
